I saw this really simple recipe and with a tin of Milo left untouched, baking this is a must. Some forumers tried and said the taste was mild and made suggestions to add cocoa powder in addition to Milo. I added cocoa powder and used chocolate milk.
Topped with some cocoa powder and chocolate chips, hoping to make the cake more flavourful.
Soft and moist but slightly chewy texture. My kids love it and I hope you will too :-)
Simple Milo Cake
1 Cup Self raising flour1 cup sugar (I used 3/4 cup instead)
1 tsp vanilla extract (I omit)
3 tbsp sunflower oil
3 tbsp milo powder
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 cup chocolate milk
- Beat all ingredients together till well mixed.
- Pour batter into 7" x 7" pan (lined with parchment paper) and bake at pre-heated oven of 180 degrees Celsius for 30mins or till skewer comes out clean.

Hi, the milo cake looks great. Would like to try your recipe. However, how to measure the One cup of self-raising flour and One cup of sugar? Thanks very much.
I have some Milo leftover which had turn into hard rock :( hope can use it up with this recipe. Thanks for sharing!!
Hi friend, can I use olive oil for this Milo and Castella cake? Been soo long that I never bake..... :( No mood...but kind of wanna start a simple one. The Milo cake need to beat till Fluffy? .... MH Thks!
Do let me know how this turns out for you :)
Very easy, you can make both gula melaka agar and this ;-)
You can check out the conversion at the navigation column, bottom right of my blog.
I know what you mean, I used to have harden milo until I decide to chuck the opened tin into the fridge. I definitely need a bigger fridge.
Good to see you again. Olive oil is quite strong in taste, unless your family is taking it well, otherwise I'll suggest you use corn/sunflower oil.
If you want a simple cake, try the Milo Cake. No need to beat till fluffy, just dump all ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir till well mixed.
Castella is slightly "complicated" and time consuming so I'll not suggest you try that recipe.
Hi... My sis just make this during the weekend and the cake tasted very sweet and the texture more like kueh. Is the texture supposed to be like this? thanks :-D
The texture is soft and moist, nothing kueh-like.
My apologies on the sugar, I did reduce the amount but didn't mention in my blog. I've already made the changes.
