Not giving up despite so many "failures" here and here. The texture is good, just that the 发糕 refused to "huat"/bloom. I'm still home alone with the kids so no long posting, will just let the pictures do the "talking".
Why don't u use taller coffeecups or teacups instead of plastic cups. I think that could be the reason...you can try my recipe and see if it makes a difference, hope it helps :)
Last time when I made rice fat gou, I steamed the same batter in a few types of cups. I found that the cups with greater height than diameter gives better bloom than cups with greater diameter than height.
I admire your determination in getting things right! Jia-you and you will get the perfect "smile" one day >*,*< PS. Have you tried doing this in those mini tart size, it might work?
I also not a fan of 发糕 and haven't make it before. So it just my own opinion, could it be the fire not really big enough to bloom them? However don't give up, Wish you could make it success one day.
OMG, they still refused to bloom! So tiring huh! Actually, fatt go is very 'siao qi'. haha.... Oh dear, wishing you luck in the next batch! & have a great Sunday. ^_^ Blessings, Kristy
The texture looks good, seems like very soft and fluffy, must be yummy!
