After almost 9 months of consideration, I finally bought it last Dec. Been wanting to get the black one but it was out of stock, so settled for this one.
What I like about the Airfryer is, when you fry fish, your house don't smell like fried fish anymore!

i also thinking to buy one ! it sound good because less oil use..
ReplyDeleteSonia,
ReplyDeleteI like this very much and I've been frying alot of stuff with it. However, do note that the taste is slightly compromised, esp fried fish. But for healthier living, we are fine with it.
Hi
ReplyDeleteJust want to know is it difficult to wash airfryer.
Thanks
Ren,
ReplyDeleteFor a start, yes. I took at least 10 mins to wash and scrub. Now, it's a breeze as I line the base with aluminium foil and most of the drippings are collected there. And if you are frying frozen cooked food, there's basically nothing much to clean up.
Also, a friend taught me to remove the net from the basket tray, and that made washing even easier. Now, it takes me approx 5 mins to wash up. Also, I always try to cook at least 2 dishes each time I use it, makes the washing more justifiable.
I can't wait for ur series of experiments....... oh please!!!
ReplyDeleteOne friend is helping me get one from Singapore. LOL.
This fryer sounds interesting! Just want to know if whatever is fried will it be crispy?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read about your product review! I read about this product on other blog and it seems really good.
ReplyDeleteWendy,
ReplyDeleteI've cooked up quite a storm with this. I suppose you've seen them in my FB album. So far very happy with it. Oh, remind your friend not to get it from the big boys, go to retailers, can bargain if paying cash.
Busygran,
ReplyDeleteDepending on what food your cook. If it's poultry coated with breadcrumbs, yes will be crispy but best eaten when out of the fryer. Can't do battered food, still experimenting. For chicken wings, taste more like grilled/BBQ if left uncoated. Fried some frozen wanton, remains crispy @ room temperature. The trick is to coat with enough oil before frying.
Ah yng,
ReplyDeleteIt is serving me well :-). Do check out my blog for updates.
happycall better
ReplyDeleteAnony,
ReplyDeleteThe Happycall pan works differently so it's not apple to apple comparison.
hi, i bought the air fryer as well but realised that if I use potatoes to make french fries instead of the frozen fries the taste is very raw. Do u have the same problem?
ReplyDeleteDid you soak the potatoes prior to cooking? I had the same prob but after soaking water, it's ok for us.
ReplyDeleteoh i didn't soak, threw them into the fryer after peeling and cutting ... will try to soak in water. tks
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWhen u put the foil on the base and remove the net on the basket, does that mean your food is actually resting on top of the foil when it is being cooked by the airfryer?
Anony,
ReplyDeleteMy apologies if I've made you confused.
I only popped the net off the holder for washing. When cooking, the net is placed back, food on net with a foil at the base. I'll try to post a pic soon.
I am still considering......cos I have happy call.....I would like to know is when frying fish, do u have to put a lot of oil? Is the fish/ skin of fish crispy if use less oil?
ReplyDeleteAnony,
ReplyDeleteI don't use a lot of oil, just enough to coat the whole fish is sufficient.
I bought this fryer a years ago. Still like it very much. For french fries, i will recomend you to use yellow flesh potato as it did produce a very good french fries. You can refer to my blog for the picture of the french fries I make from air fryer. Blessed Homemaker, I'm not to spam your blog here, just some sharing on the air fryer as i'm air fryer lover too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips regarding putting aluminium foil on the base. I really don't like the washing part after using the airfryer.
ReplyDeleteI hope to see more recipes using airfryer from you.
Thank you for sharing.
